Fresh Fleet Expansion

Fresh Fleet Expansion
Liquid CONcept Invests a Further Half a Million Euros in Electrically Heated Intermediate Bulk Containers

Hamburg – February 6, 2018 – The Hamburg-based liquid logistics company Liquid CONcept is investing a further €500,000 to once again expand its fleet of heated intermediate bulk containers. As a result, the transportation specialist boasts some 1,500 units of this kind. These heated and fully insulated containers are used chiefly for the transportation of temperature-controlled liquid foodstuffs, such as edible oils, fats, and couverture chocolate. With a capacity of 1,000 liters, these small containers are also suitable for storing liquid products.

With this fresh investment, Liquid CONcept is responding to increased demand for food transportation in small containers. The cutting-edge technical specifications of the containers can be individually modified in line with customer requirements.

“This new investment in our fleet of small containers enables us to respond even more flexibly to strong demand for liquid logistics,” explains Ulrich Schnoor, Managing Director of Liquid CONcept. “We are therefore expanding our core operations and are able to handle even greater volumes.”

The 100 new containers have already been leased to customers. Food manufacturers primarily use the IBCs for the transportation and storage of liquid foodstuffs. These small units are also used whenever tank containers or tank trucks cannot be deployed.

The new small containers are being used chiefly by the food-processing industry across Europe.

10th anniversary

Liquid CONcept Celebrates 10 Years of Success in Liquid Logistics

Hamburg – 01 September 2017 – Liquid CONcept is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The Hamburg-based liquid logistics company has grown continuously ever since it was founded—and now boasts more than 4,000 transportation units. The success of Liquid CONcept is driven by the intermediate bulk container (IBC) business. These small containers for liquid foodstuffs enable the company to offer speedy and flexible logistics solutions to its customers, who include national and international producers, manufacturers and distributors in the food industry. The signs point toward further growth, with Liquid CONcept able to boost its revenue by 20 percent in the previous year alone.

The company began developing its own IBC fleet back in 2007, thus laying the foundation for its rental and logistics business. Since then, the company has continuously added new services and, for example, now offers transportation with tank containers and tank trucks, as well as liner solutions for stainless steel IBCs.

Ulrich Schnoor, founder of Liquid CONcept: “We recognized at an early stage that customers want individual solutions, especially when it comes to liquid logistics for the food industry. We responded quickly with holistic approaches to solving problems.” Schnoor also highlights the fact that Liquid CONcept offers integrated logistics concepts. “Integrated logistics solutions that incorporate tank containers and tank trucks have played a key role in our success.”

In light of rising demands, Eycke-Christian Dörre was also appointed to the Management Board in 2013. Dörre: “We always have our sights set on the future so that we can keep pace with developments. This is what makes our industry so exciting.”

Liquid CONcept plans to successively tap into international markets in the future.

There are therefore plenty of reasons to celebrate the company’s 10-year success story. The Management Board has invited all employees and their families to a grand party in Hamburg on September 15, 2017.

Successful IFS Certification

Liquid CONcept Awarded Certificate Again with Top Marks

Hamburg – 07 August 2017 – Liquid CONcept has been awarded the International Featured Standards Logistics certificate (IFS Logistics 2.1) once again by the vehicle inspection company DEKRA. This year, Liquid CONcept met 97.42 percent of the criteria required for the certificate, thereby achieving the top result. The quality standards applicable to the shipping of liquid foodstuffs have therefore been further increased. The IFS guarantees transparency all along the supply chain on the basis of a globally standardized evaluation system. Liquid CONcept meets the requirements for IBC logistics, food defense, loading and unloading, the storage and transportation of liquid foodstuffs, and quality management.

The IFS audit checklist comprises close to 100 examination points including the ISO 9001 requirements in the areas of quality management and risk and hygiene management on the basis of HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control points). Upon a company being granted the certification, compliance with it is monitored annually by an accredited inspection body.

Compliance with the IFS standards and verification of this by independent bodies is very important to the liquid logistics company. The key factors when it comes to shipping and storing foodstuffs are product safety, quality, and transparency. The IFS Logistics certification applies to all modes of transport and all food products irrespective of the temperatures at which they are shipped.

“We used the findings of the last certification to further improve our service and offer our customers even greater reliability in the transportation of liquid foodstuffs,” says Eycke-Christian Dörre, Managing Director of Liquid CONcept GmbH & Co. KG.

The IFS Logistics standard guarantees that food risks are kept to a minimum. Greater transparency increases the customers’ confidence. The certificate serves as evidence of food safety and product liability thanks to the efficient checking of processes.

Liquid CONcept Invests in Heated Intermediate Bulk Containers

Hamburg-Based Liquid Logistics Company Responds to High Demand from the Food Industry

Hamburg – 28 June 2017 – With an investment of €1,000,000, transportation specialist Liquid CONcept is further expanding its portfolio of small containers. As a result, the total number of heated intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) is increasing to 1,150 units. These heated and fully insulated containers boast a volume of 1,000 liters and are used predominantly for the transportation of temperature-controlled foodstuffs such as chocolate, caramel paste and edible oils, but are also used to store liquid products.
The container specifications can be tailored to individual customer requirements. As a result, the company offers its customers a systematic focus on their needs and develops logistics solutions that harness state-of-the-art technology.
“Strong demand for small container-based food transportation necessitates further investment in our fleet,” explains Ulrich Schnoor, Managing Director of Liquid CONcept. “This allows us to further expand our existing operations and handle even greater volumes in conjunction with our customers.”
75 percent of the 185 new containers are already leased to customers. The remaining 25 percent are being kept in reserve, enabling the company to respond quickly and flexibly to customer needs. First and foremost, food producers use the IBCs for the transportation and storage of liquid substances, with the small units also used wherever tank containers or tank trucks cannot be deployed.
The new small containers are being used chiefly by the food-processing industry in Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.

Liquid CONcept focuses on Complex Logistics Services

Everything from a Single Source
Liquid CONcept focuses on Complex Logistics Services

Hamburg – 25 April 2017 – The Hamburg-based liquid logistics company Liquid CONcept is expanding its portfolio to include comprehensive transport services. This is Liquid CONcept’s response to high demand for complex system solutions provided by a single source. The focus in this sector is on catering to the customers’ specific requirements.
Liquid CONcept is being contracted in this area by a major European distributor of specialty chemicals. The complex job covers the entire supply chain, from bottling the liquid synthetic intermediate product Terathane 2000 to its shipment in intermediate bulk containers (IBC). Terathane 2000 serves as a precursor in the production of polyurethanes, polyesters, and polymers that are ultimately used in textiles, plastic parts, and adhesives.
To meet the customer’s stringent requirements and to safeguard their production processes, the chemical is transferred from tank containers to PE IBCs. At the customer’s specific request, the chemical is then shipped from the Netherlands to southern Germany exclusively in disposable IBC units. As Terathane 2000 requires a minimum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius to be processed, these small containers are transported in climate-controlled trucks at all times. In addition to managing and processing the shipments, Liquid CONcept’s portfolio of services includes weighing and labeling the IBCs.
With its array of holistic and complex system solutions, Liquid CONcept meets the most exacting requirements made of a perfect transport service provider at all times, thereby safeguarding the supply chain and production processes.

The Hamburg-based liquid logistics company transports foodstuffs according to the strictest requirements

Hamburg – June 30th, 2016 – Liquid CONcept has been awarded the International Featured Standard Logistics (IFS-Logistics 2.1) certificate from the DEKRA testing organization for the first time. The IFS guarantees transparency along the entire supply chain by performing tests based on a globally uniform rating system. Liquid CONcept meets the requirements for the loading and unloading, storage, and transportation of liquid foodstuffs as well as for quality management. The certificate likewise covers intermediate bulk container logistics. Liquid CONcept is therefore the first company to receive IFS certification for small container transportation services.
In addition to the requirements for quality management stipulated by the ISO 9001 standard, the checklist of the IFS audit encompasses nearly 100 testing factors, including risk and hygiene management based on HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). Upon successful completion of the audit, adherence is monitored annually by an accredited certification body.
For the liquid logistics company, the adherence to standards according to IFS, as well as monitoring through independent bodies, is highly important. Product safety, quality, and transparency are the decisive factors for the transportation and storage of foodstuffs. The IFS-Logistics 2.1 certificate covers all modes of transportation and all food-based products, regardless of the temperature at which they are transported.
“Our customers from the foodstuffs industry place top priority on continuous process safety. The IFS certificate confirms our high quality standards for logistics services for foodstuffs and reinforces the trust that customers have in us”, reasons Ulrich Schnoor, Managing Director of Liquid CONcept GmbH & Co. KG.
The standards of the IFS Logistics cover the minimization of risks related to foodstuffs and increased transparency, thus ensuring deeper customer trust. Thanks to the effective monitoring of processes, it serves as proof of foodstuff safety and product liability.

1,000th heatable IBC from LiquidCONcept goes into service

Hamburg logistics specialist expands small container capacity

Hamburg – July 20th, 2015 – LiquidCONcept’s heatable IBC (intermediate bulk container) fleet has now grown to 1,000 units. The Hamburg-based liquids transport specialist is continuing to invest in its small container business. Heatable, insulated containers of this type, with 1,000 liter volume capacity, are used specially for temperature-controlled transports which handle meltable products or storage of fluid foodstuffs and chemical products.
“Our fleet mostly consists of aseptic and standard IBCs. If necessary, they can be equipped with mixers. By investing in additional heatable small containers, which demand extensive maintenance and complex handling, we are reacting to strong demand from our customers,” explains Ulrich Schnoor, managing director of Liquid CONcept.
These stainless steel IBCs, guaranteeing high standards of safety, hygiene and quality, can match the toughest requirements expected by customers. They also have the advantage that they can be deployed again once they have undergone thorough cleaning.
Liquid CONcept configures suitable containers according to the needs of individual clients. IBCs can be fitted for use with heaters or adapted to meet hazardous goods regulations. For liquid foodstuffs additional agitator units to mix and stir the product can be used. In addition to leasing the IBCs, Liquid CONcept will also take responsibility for cleaning, maintenance, repairs and overall fleet management.
Plants available in Europe offer high-tech, fully automated cleaning of IBCs and can cope with a large throughput of units. Safety systems in place ensure that all cleaning and checking carried out by Liquid CONcept are performed properly to meet standards in force.
Liquid CONcept customers can enjoy a flexible, service-driven package, available all to them over Europe. The company’s fleet of more than 4,000 IBCs of different types is at their disposal.

Liquid CONcept focuses on fresh fruit

Hamburg logistics operator now carries fruit in tank trailer

Hamburg – June 4th, 2015 – Fresh fruit is the latest addition to the range of products transported by the Hamburg specialist for liquid cargo logistics. Its insulated tank trailers will be shipping the fruit within Europe, especially products intended for further processing. Liquid CONcept plans to offer fruit transportation throughout Europe all year round and on a daily basis. Wherever demand develops, the network of routes will be expanded and densified.
“This new service expands our portfolio of tanker transportation into fresh fruit,” says Christian-Eycke Dörre, Liquid Concept managing director.
The new facility is aimed at all producers and end-users of fresh fruit which is destined for additional processing. Liquid CONcept therefore expects good demand for fruit transport by tank trailor, particularly from the fruit processing segment of the food industry, such as manufacturers of preserves and juices. Liquid CONcept’s new logistics solution guarantees fast and reliable transport of fresh fruit and its punctual just-in-time delivery to recipients.
Initially 40 tank trailers with a capacity of up to 35,000 liters each will be deployed on European routes. To ensure that the perishable cargo is protected against adverse temperature effects, the insulated tanks are temperature controlled. Transport by tank trailer is especially suitable for fruits such as cherries, strawberries, apricots, raspberries and red or black currants.

Liquid CONcept on the road with highest certification

Hamburg logistics firm ensures international quality standards for food transport in IBCs and tank containers

Hamburg – 16 March 2015 – Hamburg’s leading intermediate bulk container and container logistics specialist Liquid CONcept is now accredited for foodstuffs transportation in line with the tough standards demanded by SVG Zert in Frankfurt. Independent certification agency SVG Zert certifies that the Hamburg company has successfully complied with the audit for ISO 9001 (International Organization for Standardization) and HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control points). The certificates prove compliance with the strict international criteria for hygiene, safety and quality.
“Demands on us as service providers are continually changing,” said Eycke-Christian Dörre, managing director of Liquid CONcept. “We want to retain maximum flexibility and yet still be able to guarantee our customers smooth-running operations, process reliability, and thus sustainable high quality and satisfaction.”

Liquid CONcept acquires new key account

IBC specialist invests quarter million euro in small container fleet

Hamburg – November 6, 2014 – A major new contract has been netted by logistics provider Liquid CONcept for transportation of raw materials for the pharmaceuticals industry. With immediate effect, the Hamburg IBC specialist is taking over the organization and management of transports of liquid petrolatum (Vaseline) for production of antiseptic and healing ointments. The client is a world famous pharmaceuticals group based in Germany’s Freiburg im Breisgau area.
To meet increased demand for special transports and in order to do justice to the requirements of the new contract, Liquid CONcept is investing a quarter million euro in its fleet of small containers. More than 100 heatable IBC (intermediate bulk containers) will be modified to accommodate the client’s production processes and quality specifications.
Rather than using the 200 liter drums initially foreseen for transport of liquid petrolatum, Liquid CONcept is using heatable containers for the first time. The advantage is that, unlike transport in unheated drums, the crude mixture retains its fluidity during transport and does not set, so there is no need for a melting phase of production in heating chambers. Deploying heatable containers not only shortens the manufacturer’s production cycles for ointments and creams, it is also more efficient and cost-effective.
The client is currently working on the basis of a monthly transport volume of around 25 tonnes of crude material. If, as expected, demand should increase, the volume can be adapted flexibly to production requirements. Heated tank containers are also under consideration. Thanks to Liquid CONcept’s just-in-time logistics concepts, the pharmaceuticals client will be able to react quickly to the demands of the market.
The initial contract is fixed for two years.

Brandenburg cacao processor banks on custom transport concept of Hamburg logistics specialist

Hamburg – June 5th, 2014 – Liquid CONcept is taking over a major proportion of internal on-site logistics for a leading processor of cacao products in Brandenburg. The contract involves extensive parts of goods transport between the client’s various sites as well as delivery of raw materials and transport of liquid finished products. The company will be using the latest heatable intermediate bulk containers (IBC) and large tank trailers for the job. Liquid CONcept’s integrated transport concept is geared exactly to the client’s specifications.
Whatever the product, whether it is cocoa solids or cocoa butter, the right means of transport is always on hand. Liquid CONcept gears up for the US

Newly developed intermediate bulk container to boost overseas business

Hamburg – May 9th, 2014 – Liquid CONcept has added another 120 ultra-modern units to its intermediate bulk container (IBC) fleet. The Hamburg-based logistics firm thus continues to build up its small container business. Designed to serve the US market, this new type of container can be used to carry high quality coatings. The new high-tech containers are rectangular in shape and have a capacity of around 1300 liters. They can be used both to transport and store smaller quantities of product.
“In providing our customers with this type of IBC, specifically designed for the American market, we are offering the most modern, individual solutions in the small container segment,” said Eycke-Christian Dörre, business director at Liquid CONcept.
Enlargement of the fleet through the new IBCs is Liquid CONcept’s response to the demands of the global market for transportation of liquids. The new transport containers are fitted with US-standard couplings and connectors to spearhead the development of Liquid CONcept’s presence in Stateside markets.
As a service-driven logistics provider, Liquid CONcept takes charge of fleet management, as well as silicone-free cleaning, preparation and retrieval of IBCs. Their compatible couplings and connectors mean it is straightforward for consignees overseas to integrate them into their production processes.
Liquid CONcept is setting standards as a provider of special transport solutions in international transport through its new offering, presenting itself as a strong logistics partner for industry.
